Hi,
I'm currently using two monobloc 500w ICE amp prototypes built by a respected audio engineer - the amps sound very good BTW. The amps do not have any form of protection from short circuiting and I was wondering if anyone in the DIY community has worked out a simple means of isolation protection for ICE amps. I am aware protection circuitry for the ICE module is not easy to implement, but that Peter Thomson of eAR ICE amps from Denmark has achieved it. A circuit diagram or other advice would be greatly appreciated ... Thanks, Steve M. |

No responses ...probably indicates a protection circuit for the ICE module is in the 'too hard basket' for most people or that there are not enough modules out there being used by DIYers yet?

Not many have used ICE modules, if you compare with
Hypex but in Sweden there are a couple. Check with OA51 here. He has an ICE amp. http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/membe...o&userid=15745

Hi Steve,
ICEpower has a pdf of guidelines for protection circuits. It is too big to post here, but send me your email and I will send it to you. Best regards, Brian Oppegaard SpeakerPower Inc www.speakerpower.net |

Nice seeing you here. I guess you've read all my ICE posts. Good luck in business.

If it's too big to post here perhaps someone wouldn't mind hosting it somewhere... Thanks, Chris |
