Power saving mode or power booster

I'm buying a tpa3116 amplifier which ranges from around 10v to 25v
I'm going to be powering it using a 12v battery and
I'm thinking of adding in a 12v-24v pololu step up booster.

I have done this in another build and it works well but draws alot more current than 12v.

So I'm wondering if it would hurt the amp if I put in a switch going from 12v to 24v as a power booster
And vise versa for a battery saver.

Will pushing the switch from 12 to 24v all of a sudden damage the amp?
