I have the Bluetooth version of the Sure TPA3116. It's called either aa-ja32171 or JAB2-50.
This is the board:
Sure Electronics' webstore 2 x 50 Watt 4 Ohm Class D Audio Amplifier with Bluetooth 4.0 APT-X - JAB2-50

I emailed Sure to ask if I could mod the board to convert stereo output into mono.
Well, they replied and said "no".
But I came across this link that walks you through converting TPA3116 to mono:
Mod a TPA3116 amp for Mono Mode - Simple Media Networks, Inc

Could anyone tell me if that mod will also work for my TPA3116 from Sure?

See the product sheet here:http://sure-electronics.net/JAB.pdf
It is not exactly clear whether this is user configurable, or whether it has to be done by SURE (Minimum order Quantity 100).

The JAB series amplifier boards offer the feature of parallel BTL
operation with two outputs of each channel connected directly. To
operate in this PBTL (mono) mode, apply the input signal to the RIGHT
input and place the speaker between the LEFT and RIGHT outputs.
Connect the positive and negative output together for best efficiency.
For PBTL mode configuration, 100 pieces MOQ will be requested.
Customers must send a requirement email to
info@sure-electronics.com for confirmation before placing the order.
Sure Electronics won’t provide any circuit diagrams to customers. We
shall have no liability for any damage caused by configurating the PBTL
mode by customers themselves.

Yeah, that's with the minimum order quantity only (as you suspected). :)

But you would think if THEY can do it, then it stands to reason that WE can do it.
Which is why I'm suspecting the mod link I posted above can be used for this board.
Pics in the mod link are for a different version of the board though. So finding the right input capacitor on the new board would be the hardest thing to do.
