I'm currently reading the simple amp repair page and am trying to learn a little more about amp repair. I'm currently working on an American bass VFl 750.1 and it appears to only have one type of mosfet on both the power and the signal side. The power side mosfets are 1RFP064N and the signal side are 24N40F. Are the "N"s in the model numbers says ing that they and negative mosfets? As far as I have learned so far there are suppose to be negative and positive mosfets right?

N in MOSFETs

The "N" of the IRFP064N is simply the upgraded versions of the type which did not have the "N"

The 24N40F the "N" refers to the fact that this MOSFET is an N-channel type

There is no such thing as a negative and positive MOSFETs

They are called N channel and P channel
