Hi

I am building a six channel minidsp based active system. My drivers are

Woofer: 8ohm 88dB
Midrange: 4ohm 90dB
Tweeter: 4ohm 94dB

I am on a light budget. So far my choices for the amplifier modules are:

3x L25D powered by a shared Connex 800W SMPS

Or Hifimediy units
T1 for Woofer with Connex SMPS300
T2 for Midrange with shared Connex SMPS500
T2 for Tweeter with shared Connex SMPS500

I would appreciate any input, or suggestions.

Hi,

I my limited experience my Hifimediy T2 (albeit with linear PSU) runs a lot quieter than my L20D (with connex SMPS), I've found it better for use in my miniDSP active system (high sensitivity drivers, 98 dB woofer).

But the L20D was more than quiet enough for my passive crossover Econowaves (I think 94db - Delta 12LFA woofer?) though.

Obviously this is dependant somewhat on the wiring arrangement etc for the builds.

Hope this info helps.
