I have a pair of 1:1 output transformers coming that were designed for use in a 15W class-a amp with approx 2.5A bias. I don't know the exact specs for the transformers right now.

Prior to building a suitable single ended class-a amp, I was wondering if suitable transformers could be used on the output of class-d amps in a similar way as line output transformers have been used successfully with Vout dacs? Ok, there isn't a DC offset issue to deal with as there typically is with dacs, but a transformer should still act as a low pass filter which I thought might keep some of the HF hash away from the speakers (especially if the class-d amp is powered by an smps).

Is this daft or worth a test? I have a TK2050 amp standing by that I'd be happy to use.
