Not really anywhere near the same though. It's just a digital reverb chip, not a full fledged professional studio suite built into a single DSP chip like the DAE6.

Yes. Nuvoton NPCA110x family has Maxx Audio 3 DSP suite built into a chip that look much more DIY friendly than the Intersil DAE6.
