Saturnus is correct. If you have crappy 83dB/W speakers vs some nice 98dB/W speakers, you're talking a difference of 15dB at only 1W. That's more than twice as "loud".

Agree with Saturnus and Redshift about. Watt. Consider a woofer with neodymium magnet like B&C 8NDL51 is a lightweight 8" woofer that woofer - B&C Speakers - B&C 8NDL51 neodymium 8" mid-bass speaker for 2 or 3-way systems. B&C 8NDL51 neodymium bass speakers available now.. This way you can combine low weight and high sensitivity

hi i'm new here and the original question on this post has also spined my head around in the past, i know that the difference between let's say 20w and 50w was only as loud as the speakers sensitivity, but i think the question here is to get the same volume you get in the 20w amplifier but in the 50w undistorted no?
also i am planning on using a TDA1562q audio amplifier that acording to the datasheet gives out around 38w at 14.4v i think, this could be good for this project no?
