I don't design or build anything, just senior test monkey...
I tested your board to TI procedure after it was assembled.

This is what my desk looks like, with one of my own amps.
Chinese triode, obviously not a TI amp in this picture.
Actually, this is my High Voltage test station, not AP2722.
Your board would have tested at a different workstation.

Hi kenpeter,
You work bench is very neat and tidy !
How does the TI board measure and how does it compare to similar price class d equipment or the gainclone ?

Sorry, can't go there...
I can't reveal those details of TI test procedure is what I mean...
TI spec is the official measurement, else I contact the engineer.

I could "compare", I just don't know the competition's stuff.
I'd be interested to play with one of those some day.

Talking TPA3116D2

Hi Guys, I have just received my sample board from Texas. Whow very quick delivery and great packaging. I have bought the bought to possibly use a a base amp in my Tri-ammped system. Straight out of the box very impressed, Will be looking to buy a second one soon, when funds permits and Mono block them into 2x100.
Would be intersested in any mods for this unit, are all the circuits basically the same, with just a change in main chip.
Running off of a 24V; 4amp SMPS. Very Happy Chappy

OK, I thought of a mod. Try remote sensing your power supply.
You could easily drop an unintended half a volt in connectors...

Talking Rest of My System

OK, the rest of my system is a Temaad TT2 turntable with Ref arm, with a Temmad Ally 103 and Temaad/Cinimags step up transformer, this goes into a Dino with upgraded power supply. CD is a Exposure, Preamp is a Custom Maranzt 7 clone, this goes into 2 DBX 3 way crosovers (not the best but better than no active) Amps are tripath T2024 for tweeters, currently T2022 for mid range and then the new Texas amp for the base. (was a TDA7492)
However the TPA sounds so good I think is will repace the T2022 wgen it is run in, then I will need to buy another one for the base (base from this amp is amazing)
Speakers are home grown with 2x 8inch units for the base cabinets, a Hi-Vi 6inch for the mid and a Foster CT2023 ribbon tweeter, Xover pionts are set at 120K and 6000k.

My amps (except the pre) and T/T motors all run of off battery supply.

With the Texas having that much more power that the T2022 I most likely will upgrade my Pre to a Temaad TVC. I have already previews it and at $425 it is amazing value for the money

Cheers to you all and Happy listening

Sorry I have been absent. I came across the TPA3110 amp at Part Express and have been using it ever since (I fried my TPA3100D2 - too many mods!). The 3110 is lower powered but sounds FANTASTIC. And it's $10!!!!!. Ten freakin' dollars. And no the Tripath chips do not IMO come close in sound quality. All I have done is swapped the PS caps - which I HIGHLY recommend doing. These TPA chips have incredible potential. The 3110 sounds as good as any amp as I have had in my home, which is granted a very modest setup - I can't afford $$$ gear. But I have built tube amps, IR2092 amps, Tripath, regular SS, receivers, etc... I would love to try the new 3116/8, etc. Hopefully next year I will have time to focus on a proper diy PCB build (sorry I could not commit Jean-Paul) and audiophile power supply. These TPA chips - at least these two I have heard - have so much potential. The end goal is to build an F5 and TPA amp and compare. At the very least the 3110 and 3100D2 compete with the IR2092 and solid state amps I have owned <$1k. Within their power limits of course.

Just my .02. Hope to make some headway next year. Happy Holidays.
