Default Class D and Passive Line Level Crossovers

It seems to me that class-d amps are ideally suited for passive line level crossovers with their adjustable gain. And, using the input capacitor for a first order crossover, or part of a second order crossover eases the insertion loss. No op amps in the chain. Has anyone tried this?
