Alright, guys, I am new to the world of building and modifying amps, so please forgive the n00bliture. I want to build a pair of powered bookshelf speakers using the amplifier from a pair of harmon/kardon PC speakers. It is on pushing 6 watts nominal divided into to channels. My question is: Could I increase the output power by replacing the IC's with ones from a more powerful amp? I would buy a DIY amp kit if it was an option, but I am broke and a sucker for this kind of project. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
