hello everybody,
it's time to buy a new amp; i have asked this question before, but it is an old topic, so here i go again. what amp delivers the best sound for around 100 euro? i guess i have to stick with a class D amp. I have one, it is a heavy modded charlize t2020, and it does sound good, but when i listen to a tube amp, it is less dry, more musical... so can anybody tell me what the best sounding amp is. I'm looking at arjen helders site, 41hz, hifdiymedia... lest time i checked the 2050 was ruler of the pack ? ps: i would like to have a bit more then 10 watts, 30 would do fine. thanks so much |

If you have already tried the Charlize, there is not much better to be had in class-D!
Trie it on a battery, maybe that is what you are looking for |

well late at night, the charlize does sound much much better, i guess a cleaner line makes the difference.
i don't want a second charlize, (that's the reason: i need a second amp for my living room). but maybe i should insert a tube as preamp on my charlize, what do you think ? i use a gamma dac 1, and i'm looking for an upgrade too, i will use the gamma 1 at work. thanks to point out that after 5 years the charlize is still a-o-k |
