Hey gang I need some help with an amp I have. It's a Diamond Audio D3 1000.1 that uses the HIP4080. The amp was in protect so I found shorted output FETs and replaced them with exact replacements. The amp now goes in and out of protect with the HIP4080 in place. I removed the HIP 4080 and it powered up just fine. With the IC out I took readings on the output FET legs. They are as follows
Channel B Q108 and Q109: Leg 1=0 Leg 2= 55 Leg 3=0 Q110 and Q111: Leg 1=-5.2 Leg 2=0 Leg 3=-5.2 Channel A Q112 and Q113: Leg 1=.229 Leg 2=55 Leg 3=.229 Q114 and Q115: Leg 1=-5.2 Leg 2=.229 Leg 3=-5.2 These readings were taken using the negative speaker terminal as my reference for ground. When probing the HIP4080 socket pins, pins 19 and 20 were 0. I found the diodes that conncet to pin 19 and every component has -5.24 volts on one side and 0 volts on the other side as if the current does not see a path to go across. Any help would be awesome. |
