I use an old 300 watt ATX computer supply with a jumper between ground and a wire. I forget what it is called. Without that jumper it works just as you described. Also very important to have the ground wire to the amp be short and fat to cut down on noise due to voltage difference from input ground. I cut off the molex and used two of the ground wires to connect. Also the same for the 12 volt lines although that is not as important.
Why should it behave differently? You cut the power, the power goes out.The problem is it only "plays" for half a second when I pull the plug out.

Noob, not stoop! It only plays in this half second. Otherwise it is dead.
I will now go to a friends house to try a different power
supply. This one is 12V 2,5A, so maybe it is a little to weak?!
Thank you guys!
Felix
