can someone advise me on which amp to build?
I am looking to build a mono class D amp and have seen recommendation for the TPA3106D1 and the TK2050. They are both recommended but I dont want to build both. What do you recommend? They both seem equally simple and cheap and both meet my specs. Its a choice based on a feeling now, but i have no feeling one way or the other. |

Hard to say without seeing the schematics.
They look like they'd be about the same. |

Can you solder smd? Do you want to use it or is it just a gadget? Can you etch/drill? Do you have a PSU and if so, single or symmetric?

Hi thanks for the responses.
I can solder SMD I will use it but I'm not an audiofile, but if one is better i might as well make that if its the same every other way. I have access to a board router. I have access to a desktop PSU but plan to run it off a battery if it makes a difference. I was planning to just buy a battery charger. I'm going to deal with the battery charging and circuits at a later date |

If you dont want to do smd then you could consider an irs2092 class d amp.
It works fine so long as you keep the layout tight and the circuit well decoupled.
