Best transformer size for Class D amps? (non-switch mode PS)

Hi All,

I have some ICE500a Mkii modules that I'd like to try out on my Apogee Scintilla's. These require an analog power supply (transformer, rectifier, caps).

Is there any way to estimate the optimal transfomer size? I thought of going with a 1500W unit per channel!

The transformer rating for a full wave bridge feeding a capacitor requires a minimum of 1.8 x maximum current draw. Note that any hum on the rails will be ratiometricaly reproduced!
