Hi guys,
Got this kit for Christmas, but I need a forum log-in to download the documentation needed to assemble it. I registered, then waited a week for an activation e-mail. After this, I tried the "Contact Us" section, filled in the form, and got an automatic reply to say they'll get right on it. Still no joy. So, here's the question - anyone know if they're having problems with the forum, or is there another way of getting hold of the assembly instructions etc? Thanks in advance, Chris PS - here's a half-finished power supply.

I can access the forum and documentation pages just fine. I don't think the documentation can be downloaded like you used to be able to do. It's only viewable as a webpage now.
I would convert the page to a PDF for you but I'm using my android phone right now and my web->PDF plugin just ends up saving a picture of the login page. This is the link you want if you can manage to login somehow..... 41hz Forum

theAnonymous1, still no luck with logging in, but sending the PDF would be great... I'll PM you my e-mail address.
Cheers, Chris

Hi guys,
I posted something about this on the 41Hz forum: SERVER GLITCH: 41Hz documentation access problems! I hope this gets fixed. I love their amps, and service has been truly excellent - including super fast shipment of replacement parts, even ones that I broke or lost myself. |

Hi, noticed your post. A slight correction - I can't log in to the forums or anything. No activation e-mail was sent to me. Perhaps my initial post was a little misleading...
Anyway, got the amp built. Those little SMDs are difficult to begin with, but it's all done now. Some of the resistors had been substituted on the plans I had been given, but by using the bill of materials, I was able to work around any problems. I'll post revised plans based on what they send shortly. In the mean time, I have a regulator for a 5v supply, so I'll get that done, hook up a sacrificial speaker (if it goes bang, I'd rather it was a cheapy one than something more expensive), and switch it on! Thanks for the help, guys Best Regards, Chris

Got hold of a temporary 5v SMPS.
With the switch in the mute position, nothing happens upon being powered up. When I flick the switch to "awake", the chip gets warm. Not hot so you can't touch it, just warm to the touch. Is that normal? My amp6-b gets a little warm too, so I'm guessing it is. I doubt it'll be a problem when it's attached to a heatsink... Anyway, with the sacrificial speaker connected, there's no buzzing or anything like that. Time to attach yet more wires for an iPod (there's chocky blocks everywhere). Edit - one final thing, I haven't heard the output relay switch yet. Any thoughts on why that might be?
