Clarion DPX1001.2/Arc Audio 1500dr/KAR 1000.2T service manual/schematics

Hi guys, I was hoping somebody might be able to help me. I have a clarion dpx1001.2 amp that was sitting outside in my car for like 5 years. Have it hooked up to two 15s.

I fired it up when I started driving my car again and it worked for about an hour. then it just cut out. I couldnt even get a thumping on sound out of my subs so I opened it up to see if anything was scorched. Nothing looks melted or damaged but some of the capacitors looked bulged and like they had been leaking electrolyte so I replaced them.

Now It powers up normally and I can hear a hump on sound in my subs but the fan doesnt come on anymore and it also will not go into 1ohm anymore. Am not getting any sound out of it now except for the initial thumping on. Some of the capacitors looked bulged and like they had been leaking electrolyte so I replaced them.

I hear this board is the same layout as Arc Audio 1500dr/KAR 1000.2T . Any ideas or information would be most helpful. I have done a fair bit of trouble shooting and I am sure the amp is the problem because I installed another smaller clarion and everything works as it should.

Hi Chrondongo,

I always take a look at Service Manual free download,schematics,datasheets,eeprom bins,pcb,repair info for test equipment and electronics for service manuals. I gave it a quick spin by searching for "DPX1001", "1500dr", and "1000.2T" but didn't find what you're looking for. However, you might try more permutations of the model numbers to see if anything shows up.

When I can't find any external info, I just trace the circuit. Once you get the whole schematic, or at least the part you need to repair, in front of you things may start to fall into place. It's potentially a long road, but sometimes it's that or nothing.
