Col,
I would also be very interested in such a comparison between UcD and TK2050 Modules.
Could you please tell us more about their sounding caracteristics ?

Regards,
Damien

I have built 3 pairs of Hypex Amps based on their UCD400HG HxR and SMPS 400A400.
I am delighted with their performance.
I originally planned to use a Linear supply but persuaded myself to go SMPS to reduce cost, size, heat dissipation and power consumption and with almost a year in operation I have no regrets.
I'm driving them Balanced from a Benchmark DAC into ATC SCM40 speakers.

Nice setup Ian. Mine is very similar (speakers, amps).
If I may, sell the Benchmark and build yourself a Buffalo DAC with the money you get.

Seems the way to go for me as well. Built a case with 400HG's running on 3 SMPS 400 and will drive them balanced with a wyred 4 sound DAC-2 for critical stereo - Denon 4306 unbalanced into the DAC's bypass for all other use.

Ive posted a thread under the power supply section Hypex SMPS minor tweak which some of you may find interesting.
