Question Ta2022 amp5 or auspicious.e boards

Hi,
I'm quite decided to buy my first T amp board ( not first DIY) based on TA2022.
I wan't to use it with a pair of Fostex FX120.
Well the thing is I've seen two very similar amps in price wich are the 41Hz amp5 and the Auspicious.e amp module from ebay already made.
I would like to ask if anybody has had the chance to hear those modules and could advise me. Any impressions and opinions about the sound and the design.
Thanks very much in advance!!
cheers

Hi,
I'm not spanish either, but I live there. When I mean chinese I refer to be done in china in a very cheap way and kind of not good quality... but still, many things done in Spain or Europe don't mean to be top 10 quality product either.
Is just that I found the auspicious amp at Ebay, and it is sold from China. I don't know really where connexelectronic is done. May be I said too fast that is chinese. i apologise for that if I offended someone by saying this.
Still, I don't care if it's made in china or sweeden. Auspicious is 65 euros ready done at home. 41Hz amp5 is arround 70 euros plus it has to be mounted. The diference in price doesn't make sense to me to indicate if it's better or worse. I ask at this forum if any body has had any experience with them or can tell by the design of them if one is more recomendable than the other.
The connex one with TA2022 I can't find any info or threads about it.

Still I can see that it's a bit complicated to say wich amp cut's the edge. On th other hand many people agree that these amps are monster killers... strange thing alltogether.

...well, no succes at all for my Fostex FX120's

No sugestion for a simple amplifier for these speakers??
I was quite convinced with the TA2022 amp4 from 41Hz dot com, but not much info.
Also Imay stick to the Gainclone wich I did time ago but it's not working propery. So I don't know really if it's that good. I bought it from Audiosector, the simple kit with LM3875. I search for comparisons between gainclones and tripaths, but it's all a matter of taste... and I think that they compare tripaths TA2020 and ta2024. But this particular TA2022 it's imposible to find info. So in the end, back to begining.

You might want to consider TK2050 based amp board by Hifimediy (www.hifimediy.com) discussed in other thread of this forum. It's quite cheap and its sound quality is outstanding.

Do you recomend this amp module(hifimediy) based on TK2050 more than the Arjen modules based on the same TK2050 or amp5 41Hz.com based on TA2022?? Well, Arjen sells them in mono at ebay.
Thanks.

The TK2050 v.2 by Hifimediy is the only Tripath based amp module I have heard so far, so I cannot compare. I have also other more powerful class d amp based on Texas Intruments TAS5630 chip and it doesn't sound so well to my taste, its sound is somehow annoying to my ears.
The TK2050 is a pleasure to listen to - airy detailed sound, tight bass, great resolution and easy listening at the same time. I really like it!

Whatever vendor you choose, I would strongly recommend that you take a TK2050 amp, and a non-paralleled version.

Examples are the 41Hz Amp4, and this one from hifimediy: Hifimediy

(Note that I don't have any experience with hifimediy myself. If their implementation is good, it's going to be a good amp.)

The TK2050 chipset quite simply sounds outlandishly good. Also the non-paralleled implementation of the TK2050 fits 100% to the FX120's 8 Ohm impedance.

Thanks kristleifur! the only problem with amp4 from 41hz is that it's surface mount wich requires high skills for soldering. I did my self a LM3875 from audiosector and several loudspeakers, and it's quite straitforward, but SMD compnents... better not.
The only alternative is Arjen Helders dual mono amp with TK2050 with smps and alps pot, fo 100 euros aprox. If not there is the HIFIMEDIY with alps and meanwell smps.

i'll get one of these two wich is the simplest way know, and probabily the most reliable in trems of quality sound. But to ask people at this forum wich between those 2 is best is mission imposible
bye
