I cant really find anything on this so here goes:
Which is best, a toroid like T106-2(or other number) or a gapped RM or ETD core type ferrite ? Hypex seem to like the ferrite better than toroids. |

I remember that there are several threads discussing about classD output inductors. One thread have reports comparison between different inductors and prefer the Wurth Elektronik one.

I looked around in the wurth elektronik inductor stock and found this one rather interesting: http://katalog.we-online.de/kataloge...7447709220.pdf
I don't really like toroids because of their size. |

I have ordered a few free samples, now it remains to see if they will give me any.

http://www.we-online.de/katalog/medi...4435572200.pdf <-- perhaps this one would be a good one too, it takes higher current and should therefore be more suited for higher power amplifiers.

I think gapped or non-gapped does not matter. What does matter is magnetic material and DC resistance of the copper wire used to make the inductor.

Yes it matters were the gap is and how the magnetic circuit is designed for shielding against EMI or radiated noise pollution. I think they are all gapped. Ferroxcube is selling its powder iron toroids which are made with a "distributed gap". Yes they are low loss but this is much worse for EMI than a constrained central gap with an outer ferrite structure.
