Hi!
Can anyone point me in the direction of circuit/diagrams and PCB layouts for an experimental Class D amplifier board using through-hole parts only and output inductors wound only on readily available Ferrite core kits please? I'm looking at outputs in the 20-50W range!!! Many thanks, Chris Williams |

Check the 20-1200w ucd thread below, it uses only through hole parts.

Try the TDA8920BJ it comes in both a through hole (23-SIL) or a surface mount package. Digikey has them in stock now in the through hole for $6. It is made by NXP Semiconductors (founded by Philips). Philips is the same company who Bruno Putzeys worked for, though I’m sure it’s not a UCD topology.
The Dared DV-6C uses the TDA8920 and in was awarded 6moons Blue Moon Award in 2009, so sound quality should be excellent. I trust 6moons far more than other reviews. I don’t know if there is a difference between the through hole (23-SIL) or a surface mount package the data sheet does not sagest it. I have not heard it myself. Leve |
