Hypex UCD400 OVP problem

Hi all,

I have just finished an ultra compact amp with Hypex modules.
The amp consists of 2 UCD400 amps and one SMPS400.

Pity is, I bought everything at the same time at HiFi kit here in Sweden, thinking the parts would be compatible.

However the SMPS puts out about 70Vdc at my nominal line voltage which is 239Vac tripping the OVP on the amps.

It seems the on board caps and power FETs can handle the 75V limit the higher serial numbers have.

Is there a quick fix I can do ,without risking the modules, to set the OVP to 75V nominal.

Also I would like Hypex to include in the SMPS datasheet the maximum external cap the supply can handle
without the current limit inception to kick in making the startup ramp non monotonic.
I added 4x4700uF and it restarts at least once.

The amp will be some 200W / liter.
I may have to squeeze in a small fan but it seems to be OK so far....

aren't those modul for ~+/-60

Any reason for those additional caps? I was playing with the idea also to make a really small amp.

This case: LEX COMPUTECH - Product

It's a PC manufacturer but I have gutted one of their cases I had lying around. Pure Aluminum, heavy, pretty. I tried to contact the maker to see if they sell the enclosures only.

This can easily house a mono SMPS+UCD400, even stereo one (with one SMPS)

Yes luka they probably are. New versions are Hypex smps comp.

Yves. I had the caps already and wanted to use them. Dunno the impact but they sure help lowering the supply impedance.
The cases looks good. I looked in to computer cases too.
Mine was an old modem. Just made the panels.

Someone at Hypex told me that the "old" modules can be adapted with changing 2 components on the module.
