I am thinking about building some UCD400 monoblocs with a miniDSP and a miniIO board in them. Each monobloc would accept analog, SPDIF and Toslink thru the miniIO and be XO'd or corrected or mixed by the miniDSP thru it's USB programmable software plug-ins. I could power all the boards in each monobloc with a Hypex SMPS400which has a 12v tap for the miniDigi's.
Am I just caving in to sheer techno-lust or is this something folks would be interested in? I mean, that'd wind up with a stack of six of these puppies to power my 3-ways. Even tho that seems cool am I over-complexifying things? I love the flex of the monoblocs, I can think of thirty-seven ways to use them but - shazaam, even tho all the IO would be pass-thru so you could stack them with one input per channel that's still a lot of wires. Too many, or does the sheer coolness outweigh the mess? Dunno, please weigh in and let me know if I am about to waste a pile of money and time or is this the coolest thing ever conceived? Regards Tom |
