There is an overlap between the questions I posted here, it could have been raised in the power supply forum but for the love of subject (Class-D) I posted it here.
Everyone (I think) has had a rough day when putting a class-d project together using their choice of high speed, low propagation delay, high current blah bah mosfet driver ic The most common one vie seen used are the IR21XX driver series. Not every day is a success mosfet output stagers fails and brings the very device that keeps it alive down as well with it (the driver ic) there exists techniques used to protect mosfet driver from being destroyed at the cost of signal degrading like signal propagation delay as an example.(In my opinion they are tolerated as continuously purchasing gate drivers makes the project costly and frustrating ) Three types of driver protection / buffer circuits are 1) Discrete transistor circuit 2) Gate driver opt coupler 3) Gate driver transformer Does anyone have a circuit i can use as a gate driver buffer ? i was thinking of using the driver transformer thats common in computer power supplies. Let know your thoughts on this anyone. (it does save lives well gate drivers )
