Default Need help to setup MOSFET driver

Hi everyone!
I have made the PWM modulator for my recent project which is building a class-D amp.
Now I need to drive some power MOSFET's with a driver. I have chosen ZXGD3003E6 because it has low rise/fall time (19ns) and it comes in the small SOT23-6 package.
I have looked in the datasheet and I need help from you guys to setup this driver, since I don't understand the datasheet. There are some resistor you need to add but I don't understand how you can calculate what value you need.
Also I need to split the PWM signal so the P- and N-channel get the correct signal, am I right?
I know you need to use a fast switching diode and a resistor added between. I have seen the value 100 ohm has been used in some schematics I looked at.
Could someone show how you do that correctly, and also help with the driver? I would be very grateful if you would help me
I have also posted some images of my PWM modulator. It includes schematic and signals from trianglewave and PWM output. Frequency is 403KHz (it says 390 in schematic, but thats wrong).

Datasheet: http://www.diodes.com/datasheets/ZXGD3003E6.pdf

Regards,

Simon H.A.

The driver you've chosen is a single mosfet driver, which is basically a complementary bipolar follower with separately adjusted switch-on and switch-off times. These times depend on many variables, like gate charge of the mosfet, miller charge, threshold voltage,... Typical values of gate resistors are 4.7-22 ohms, preferably lower value for switch-off.
You must choose some more things first, like N-channel only or complementary switching stage, half or full bridge.
I recommend some half bridge drivers from IRF and N-channel topology, simple and effective.

Hi,
Thanks for you reply. So actually that driver I used is useless?
But what driver would you recommend for halfbridge operation?

Okay, I have recieved some IR2110 chips, but I can't figure out how to connect the IR2110 to my PWM circuit or what it is called.

Any suggestion? I would like to make a BTL mode, but SE is also okay. I just need it to work, so I can do some testing and modding.

Thanks,

Simon H.A.

I would suggest having a look at irs2092.
This is a one chip solution to your problem.

The keyword here is levelsifter.
Look here for some more information 6000W By IRS2092 ......
You can skip the topmost transistor .. as you can read further on.
Also you wil probably need some deadtime implementation like the circuit around 74HC86 .....

Good luck

Hi,
Thanks for the replies. So I can use this connection to my IR2110? And I can remove Q1 and connect PWM to R3?
Can I use 74LS86 instead of 74HC86 (easier for me to get)? They should be the same right?

Regards,

Simon H.A.

Ok, here is my new schematic. Will it work and can you make some improvements?
