Hi onis,

I've got the older MKII version. If I power the MKII on with nothing connected to the input wires I get virtually no pops or crackles. Likewise, if I do have a music source connected and that source is up and running before applying power to the MKII, I get virtually no pops or crackles. Conversely, If the MKII is powered on before the music source is plugged in or turned on, then I do get some unpleasant bursts of noise.

Try playing around with the power up sequence of your MKIII and your music sources to see if that helps.

Hi onis,

Ground loop problems typically create a constant hiss or hum. What you described is just a momentary pop / click, so that's not it.

I can't tell you all the things that can induce this pop / click issue, but I do know that capacitors in the source equipment defiantly can cause this problem.

In my case, I just make sure to power on the amp after I have my source connected and turned on. Likewise, I power the amp off before disconnecting or turning off the source.
