If I was to make a unit that had 3 complete un changed TA2020 amps off ebay - say like this one
Lepai TA2020 Class T Amp Mini Stereo Amplifier +Adapter - eBay (item 290407411661 end time Mar-28-10 07:43:34 PDT) Would I be able to just split the input into 3 channels and feed it to each ? Of course power supply - I can split that. 12-18V and say 6+ amps. But will the input signal degrade too much if I split it 3 X. Then if I build a tube buffer like a 12AU7, would it be 1 for the whole thing in front of all the splitting, or do I have to put one per channel ? Thanks in advance guys. Cool. Srinath. |

It depends on how strong the signal source is. Would be better to have somekind of preamp with 3 outputs to boost the signal. Also, beware of ground loops!

Oh a preamp with 3 outputs. OK I can do 1 tube preamp but have 3 outputs from it ?
I guess a 3 pack of tube preamps would work ... But is there a different way. Cool. Srinath. |

Oh, the kenwood I have and am using now to run the 1 chip amp I got I am running it out of the headphone jack since it has volume control. Now that output can be split ?
Also how much distortion is sent out of the preamp side of the receiver ? Thanks in advance. Cool. Srinath. |

Oh I had another Idea.
Could I get 3 of these - 2 x 68 Watt LM3886 + NE5532 Audio Amplifier Board Kit - eBay (item 260566539193 end time Mar-13-10 16:00:15 PST) And that has a NE5532 pre amp circuit on the board. So I split them X3 and then the pre amp gets them stronger before the amp amplifies them. They even have those with tube based pre amps and I being clueless get confused easy. Cool. Srinath. |
