Class D volume control

i was thinking if pwm presents signal in time domain and mosfets have constant multiply factor. When normally preamplifier controls volume but if your audio processor sends information of desired volume level to amplifier and after pcm2pwm modulator you modify pwm amplitude.

PS if anyone have recommendation how to transfer data (audio data and control bits) from audio processor to amplifier (amplifier is located in speaker cabinet). i mean there are tons of different possibilities
