I'm considering assembling a Class-D Audio kit. Wiring the pieces looks simple enough. I can get a cheap aluminium enclosure at the local electronics store. But I never did this before and I don't even know what tools to use to cut the needed holes in the enclosure. Could anyone point me to a beginner's guide to building an enclosure?
Also, I'd like to know what minimum size is recommended to build the 2x120 WPC kit at Class-D Audio? What do you use? Thanks a lot, and have mercy for a complete newbie! |

For holes in thin metal, use a step drill. It won't 'walk' as you start the hole, and will cut much more cleanly than a twist drill. Ideally use a drill press, but a hand drill can work.
You might want to ask Class D about the enclosure size. They seem pretty responsive to questions.
