Hi all,
Ive just gotten hold of a Hlly T-AMP90 and was wondering if anyone had tried bridging one? Ive emailed Hlly about it aswel, as they advertise it can be done, just thought id ask if anyone had done it already? I tried searching but didnt find much. Thanks for any help

No, they can't be bridged. They can be paralled though to drive lower impedances.

Hmm, it says in the manual "Can be modified to operated in bridged mode and get more output power" is that wrong?

The TA2022 IC can be bridged, and a Chinese Poppulse T-amp similar to the Hlly T-amp 90 supports bridged mode if you use balanced input via XLR.

Ah i see, thanks for the replies guys.
I think I may have messed up a bit anyway, ive seen a couple of suggestions now that once bridged it can only power an 8ohm load, not 4ohm..is that right? Its a shame its not 2ohm stable, im currently using one channel to power a DVC 2ohm sub. |

Well, it's 2 Ohms stable if you parallel the outputs (and not bridge them), so you could just get 2, parallel both and drive one VC with each.

Thanks for that hllyelec, that wasnt in the file I downloaded originally, looks like a pretty simple mod
![]() Unfortunately I probably wont be doing it now if it can only handle 8ohm bridged, maybe ill get a 2nd at some point as Saturnus says, for the time being ill just use the one channel. Thanks for all the input guys! |
