And bare paper cone is bad for outdoors I quess. Well I have collected enough information and made the best compromise for me and my use. You'll see soon what suited my needs best. I reveal a bit, ordered just 5,6Ah 18V LiPo battery. Acryl laser cutting firm just told me they have both glossy and matte black acryl, I might go with matte since it's not that much of a finger print magnet.
(2,5 years ago with same money I got 3,3kg 12V 7Ah lead acid for my first blaster) Some progress here |

![]() Amplifier arrived, it even works! Atm. listening to only one channel until I get resistors to sum the input. Last edited by Drakmin; 9th February 2010 at 04:49 PM. |

I could get the metal diaphram p-audio 407N for 3 dollars. Is it worth 3 dollars?
I already have a good sounding prototype running but it's too heavy. That 8" paudio on the url weight only 1,3kg and looks interesting to me. I'm willing to pay to lose 2kg (my bass driver in prototype weight a bit over 3kg) http://www.loudspeakersplus.com/images/WN-8S.pdf w w w . p a u d i o s y s t e m . c o m |

Would be an excellent driver for it but it'd require a different filter than the one already calculated here.

But btw - maybe I'm wrong but I don't think you need any resistors to sum the input - just wire them together. But I'm a bit scared to say this with any certainty as you probably have a reason for the resistors ... ? |

Got emails from multiple shops, no-one selling WN-8S anymore.
Here's another attempt: tried to balance the weight cost and sensitivity. Is it possible to make these work together. They both are sold on thomann so I can actually get those and not only dream about Eminence - The Art and Science of Sound http://www.eminence-speaker.com/pdf/apt80.pdf Cost is 70 euros total. Tweeter is not the lightest (700gr) but pretty small in size and price. I need a tweeter which can be hidden behind about 80mm in radius circle speaker fabric. Total weight is 2,6kg. The bass and tweeter I have in prototype weight 3,5-4kg total and have less sensitivity (89db/w) |

Saturnus: (or any other pro)
http://www.eminence-speaker.com/pdf/alpha-8a.pdf http://wavecor.com/html/tw030wa02.html I found really light tweeter (130gr) which matches the Eminence bass drivers sensitivity 94db/w. Could I put 6db/oct roll off for bass starting at 1000hz to tame the small spike at 2000-4000hz and 12db/oct @ 2000hz for the tweeter. For my eyes it looks okay starting point. Does it matter that bass is 8ohms and tweeter 4ohms if I just remember it when calculating the xo parts. Tweeter is 30 euros and bass 40 euros and both are sold in shops where I can get those. These drivers match all my needs if they only work together I'll be really grateful for any opinions. I'd like to start building now! |
