Hi,
I want to design an extra bass sub-woofer amplifier..... I found lot of amplifier design in this site also. But it is very difficult to judge which one is the best.
I am looking for an amplifier with 200w-300w RMS rating with very low noise and very good low frequency response. So please anybody give me a link with full schematic and specification.....

Thank you......;)

I guess it's always going to be difficult to judge which could be the best for a given application, especially as lots of class D amps are capable of high output power.

You don't mention what impedance you want the amplifier to deliver the 200-300 watts into either.

If it's a 4 ohm load a TAS5630 based amp would reach that demand. They are very easy to implement (providing you can make decent PCBs) and will work off a single 50 volt power rail.

The two amps I've built are very quiet and don't produce any hum. Of course they hum if there's a ground loop, but then what doesn't.

If you were careful with the design, you could mount the chip and PCB directly onto a metal plate, a la plate amp, for cooling purposes.

You can find the TAS5630 specs in the TI datasheet.

Then there's Hypex, Coldamp and ClassD all who offer products that would suit your needs.

There's another manufacturer too I think, one that offers several high power amps, that I cannot for the life of me remember.

Hi, thank you for your replay.. I am glad to go with your way.. I don't know much about the power amplifier design, so kindly clarify my doubts...

1. What are the procedure to test my circuit. I am afraid to connect the speaker directly for my first step of test. Is there any way to check my amplifier without connecting the speaker..

2. What should be my first test signal...

3. What are the precautions for my hi power amplifier....

Usually you would connect a test load. This is normally a power resistor of comparable resistance to the load you want to drive. You'd also connect a scope to the output so you can see what the output is doing whilst the amp is driving the load.

2. What should be my first test signal...

Probably a sine wave at 1khz. And at a level that would approximate 1 watt into your test load.

3. What are the precautions for my hi power amplifier....

If the amplifier is properly designed there shouldn't be any precautions necessary. It should be internally protected against over current and having the output short circuited. But if you're in doubt, don't try driving the amplifier ridiculously hard into very low ohm loads.

If the power supply is somewhat underrated you need to make sure that you're not going to overload it either.

Hi, I want to design a toroidal transformer power supply for my 300W sub woofer amplifier[TAS5615]

My power supply i unregulated and the maximum input supply level is 50V for TAS5615. So what could be my transformer safer secondary voltage rating. I didn't decide my transformer type whether center tapped or bridge type and i don't know which one is best.

TI recommends 16A current rating ..... Is it really required that much of power supply......?
