I finally took the plunge and got on of PE's Sonic Impact style amps to replace an old one used on my computer setup.
Doing listening tests got just too fatiguing on an Optimus SA155.
I read the FAQ page and Wiki but these do not have much about care and feeding of these small amps. Someone said in the PE reviews that he cooked one by having a voltage reversed. This should not happen to me. I am purely plug and play.
But issues like connecting a 12 volt battery and what kind and so forth are not covered in the wiki. On here in the gallery I saw one battery system that is even solar powered to refresh.
So from the plug and play standpoint, what should I watch out for?
I use hand built single driver speakers from Fostex and have been on the
single driver forums for a long time.
Lastly, there is some discussion of using a DAC in the output chain to the speakers. Where can I find out about these things?
