Hi,
I have a Sonic Impact and a Pop Pulse T amp. I would like to give one to my girlfriend and build a cool housing for it. The pop pulse and the sonic impact sound pretty close to each other now so I thought if I upgraded to capactiors and the volume potand power supply the sonic impact would sound much better than the pop pulse but I will modify either. My question is which capacitors do I need to replace and what value of capacitor shoudl I replace them with? |

When people talk about replacing caps. its usually on amps that have output and input coupled capacitors. also electrolytics with bubbly tops need to be replaced. i would use the same capacitance as the ones that are in it and maybe get ones rated for a higher voltage (can never be too safe)

Replacing the input capacitors and the tank caps will dramatically enhance the sound of yhe SI. There are extensive threads on modifications. Perform a search on this forum for tripath.
I would suggest Michael Mardis' website. He has concise instructions with photos posted on his website for modifying the SI.
