Default Help: blown plate amp module

Hi

I have a blown amp module from a Digitech cs2457 jaycar spec sub

Symptoms: Fuses blow as power is applied after the toroid
Speaker is blown into a crunchy voicecoil mess
caps are blown - atleast one of them.
relay has scorch marks inside.

Is it worth trying to fix this or could there be something else blown apart from the capacitors.

If i try and replace capaciters would i have a fighting chance? Would the fuse blow because of this?

I have a replacement 4 ohm driver to go in (sony car sub) will do the job for now.

would the torroid be ok? or could that have bit the dust also.

thanks for your thoughts guys

Hi konman,

Sorry I can't help you with any specifics, but this looks like a solid state amplifier design. You should probably post this or have this thread moved to the solid state forum.
