But for a powerfull 3-way system you could use a second PSC2.400 in bridge.

I expected you would say that

And if I want to combine the smaller with the bigger
They seem like they dont really like each other

I dont understand why not just give it a 3way DSP
Im not a tech guy, but wouldnt expect it to be that difficult
That would seem much more powerful to me
And give better and easier control of the complete speaker
Maybe I just have to wait fore the next generation

Sorry, I mixed up the AS2.100 with the upcomming high end DSP solution.

The upcomming high end DSP solution;
- fully balanced input two channels and 6 channels balanced output.
- no power amplifiers, only high end D/A converters from AKM.
- it's only a DSP board, size aprox. 100x100mm

Ok, AS2.100 6channel dsp is interesting
I have been looking around and waiting fore some time

6channel might be nice fore my home hifi
Im sure it will be a nice thing
But we have the balanced vs RCA issue again

Fore the pro speaker I plan to design and build, I would need 3channel boards
And I dont like to choose between either balanced or RCA
So here we go again

No tinitus it is a 6 channel preamp board that is coming at some point

Seems I was very naive to believe it would be easy

I thought the sub out on AS2.100 would be dsp controlled
If it isnt, I was mistaken all along

The subout of the AS2 is DSP controlled and can be used to control your sub! You only have to add an amplifier between the AS2 and the woofer.

About making an other version, like for example a 3 channel:
Well we could do this but making an extra product gives a lot of work and trouble. And even if we'd have a 3 channel there are people wanting 4 channel of 3 channel with more or less power :) and so on.
You have to consider that we are only 6 months on the market with our first DSP solution, the AS2.100

That I think is a very nice option :) and could be used to do a classic 3way as well, I suppose
Ordinary plateamps cant do that
AS2 smallish output should be sufficient to drive a mid/tweeter in a powerful 3way home setup

BTW why do you have a disease as a nickname?

Im a bit tired of it too
But I do have a mild tinnitus
And I have moments when it gets worse
It can get absolutely awful, but Im lucky that its not worse than is
I guess it was to remind people to be careful with high SPL etc, or what other could cause it
And I couldnt think of anything else
If I find a new name, it might be like ####formerly called tinitus :p
cheers

USB Audio Input

Hi,

I'm a proud owner of two AS2.100 and did an active X-over setup in dipoles with two UCD 180 modules for the bass channel. This all is working fine.

I have a question in regard of the USB audio input: is it supposed to work with mp3-players or i-phones too? It works with my laptop in my setup, but not with mp3 players.

Best regards
Stephan

In manual it says "digital version only"

In car amps I have seen some kind of adapter fore mp3 etc

But your question sounds a bit confusing to me
I dont think there is any usb mono signal, and you use two hypex, one each channel, right ?
Sounds like you need a special mp3/DAC
Hell, I dont even have a mp3, or ever used one, yet

Me neither, but there is some demand

Is any set up required if using one module as two single amps, i.e. as a stereo pair for two full range drivers, with no crossover required?

I'm on a Mac, so not easily able to run the software for the AS2.100.

Yes the AS2.100 can easely be used as a 2x 100 Watt full range.
And even then you are still able to make some adjustments to the signal, some boosts/cuts or a delay for example.
Software is indeed not compatible with MAC, maybe we can arrange some in the new year :)
But you only have to set up the AS2 once, and then it can be controlled by the buttons or remote.

That would be excellent - I'm sure there are Mac users out there who would be very interested.

This module is one of the most exciting developments in audio for a long time, given its flexibility and ability to take digital signals. All credit to you for making it available to the DIY community.

I've heard a complete commercial system along similar lines (the AVI ADM9.1) and the results were amazingly good.
