With efficient drivers, like 99 dB/1w/1m, 15 watts will sound like 150. However, it would take ginormous cabinets to do justice to music that demands real bass like dubstep. Unless... a tapped horn could be twisted around in some Bose-like way to fit into a boom box size case?

A further thought... biamp with two small amps and an active crossover. You could run a single dual voice coil sub off one stereo amp, possibly in a bandpass or tapped horn to improve the thumpiness.
