cases for our amps

im new to diy amp but i am going to order a amp6 kit from 41 hz and i thought i might share my idea of useing some nice black marble floor tiles cut up and then glued together with some adhesive or perhaps laminate flooring to match whats in your house to keep partner happy what do you think are these products suitable

That said, I have some of my amps in temporary plastic boxes and the noise is not at all bad.

hi so if i make it out of tiles and line the inside with thin alloy or copper this will be ok.allso for any body who is interested there are some sure amps on ebay £18.00 including shiping

hi mate its east just dont drill near edge and start of with a small drill then use a wider drill just made some speaker stands and used tiles for the base and had no problems

I may have to give that a try. I know when laying tile I had a hard time drilling nice clean holes in them. They always had issues with chips around the edges. Sounds like a cool project. Post up photos if you get the chance.

do you have a electric tile cutter thay dont splinter and you get a great cut but cut with glased side down and when drilling place tile on something like thick ruber or sand and dont put drill on hammer and dont use masonary bits and you will be fine
