I changed the supply cap in my 5066. The positive lead of the cap is right beside the ground trace. My solder blob touched the trace ever so slightly, sending positive voltage where it ought not go. My amp will turn on, but no sound.
My question is, did I kill my chip? Thanks Jason |

Hi Jason,
When you say supply cap, is that C10? Does turn on mean the LED comes on? If so you may have blown a "via" , a link from one side of the board to the other side. You could try a link as shown below, it's not ideal but the alternative means drilling a small hole and a link close to the chip. |

Yes, the LED comes on. Yes C10-330uF, I believe.
Ok, I see. I will break out the schematic and multimeter to see where a short may be. I thought the chip may have short protection or something. I would really love to get it working again, it sounds so good! Thank you very much. Jason |
