Hi,
I´m searching for a subwoofer application for a very powerful amp (>1000W@8Ohm), in class-D, with accompanying SMPS with PFC and possibly a partnering DSP-crossover-module. best would be a single block solution, similar to this one ( http://www.digmoda.com/ , but it comes without PFC, doesn´t reach the power requirements and is quite costly). Apart from CADAudio I haven´t found anything that really fits. CADAudio does have a special reputation in this forum, so I´d like to see alternatives. Are there any, preferably in Europe? jauu Calvin |

Hallo Calvin,
letztes Jahr zur HMW hatte Nico doch einen Hoellstern mit und ein Tact stand auch herum - nicht gesehen? Gruß, Timo

Powersoft won't sell their modules to individuals, only volume manufacturers. Hypex 2k isn't released yet and no SMPS is available, but you could use this with the SMPS from Red Rocks Audio -- or this with 2 bridged Red Rocks amps to get 2000W/8ohms http://www.redrocksaudio.es./e_main.html or use their SMPS to drive pairs of amps from other suppliers like LCaudio ZapPulse, the website shows how to do this. If you want to get everything from one supplier (compatibility, support) Red Rocks are the only one with suitable SMPS with PFC, amps, and DSP module that you can actually buy (apart from CAD Audio...) Hi,
oh, I forgot to mention, that I need the amp for home application, so any amp with a noisy fan is OUT. And I´m not searching for the cheapest but something priceworthy! Tried to find something positive about QSA. Besides me beeing suspicious about cheap chinese stuff sold by the tons via ominous ebay sources, there are some threads in the PA-Forum about QSA . So far it says that QSA Ltd. seems not to hold the rights on this company name(!!)......the stuff is of very cheap chinese origin..........PE found to be not always connected(!!)...very hot running....very noisy fans. Powersoft or Redrocks are the most promising contenders so far, followed by CAD Audio. They are all to be found in the EC, which I as european regard as important when it comes to service, warranty and reliabilty. jauu Calvin |
