hi..me and my friend want to make a 500watts class d amp with IRS2092 chip..we have different transistors..i am planning to use irf540st(low gate charge) and my friend is gonna use lateral type 250watts rms class d mosfet.its here
http://www.classd.ltd.uk/product.php...cat=266&page=1 i made a simple class d design with ir2110s some years ago but now i am making class a amps and forgot which LC filter which core (mpp thinz? or ferrite)may i use for this amps.i think the sampling frequency will be 300kHz.it will sound at 20Hz-20kHz.my friend want to have a quality filter.he always want to have quality stuff . can you give me a good advice.thanks

Air Core filter sounds the best in any ClassD Amp, but be sure to shield the whole apparatus to avoid EMI problems.
Best of luck ajazz |

As per my experience for a supply upto +-80V a Air core inductor made of 16G litz wire on a former size of 1inch ID and 1inch width wound with approx 100 turns should give you the required inductunce. You may have to experiment with the No of turns to get the required uh. 40uh + .47uf to ground recommended for best performance as per various datasheets.
All the best |

Air core at those voltage levels results in too high stray magnetic fields. It's not a good idea.
Those laterals doesn't even seem to have a datasheet available. They are usually intended for linear applications. They may exhibit terrible switching performance.

http://www.classd.ltd.uk/Datasheets/...D%20NX%27s.pdf they make class d amps using these mosfets..they are very good amps
and also now i connected it to my single ended class a amp..it sounds good also ![]() but my single ended amp is for using vertical mos irfp150n..which resistor values should i change? amp is ras10 single ended.. |

Sorry for the photo quality. This trial amp was for the DIY and it works well, but later scraped the idea because of costly components.
