I didn't know class D amps are being used in PA aswell.
http://www.thomann.de/gb/the_tamp_d1600.htm http://www.altoproaudio.com/html/power_amplifiers.php Could be a nice base for further tweaking. Anyone done that? |

Yes!
Lightweight, high efficiency, reliable and clean. Lightweight saves big on transportation costs. And setup and tear down. Efficiency saves on power, and generates a lot less heat. You don't always get the ideal ventilation in racks. Some halls now charge by how much actual power you draw. This market will grow and grow for class-d. There is still lots of room for smarter power supplies. I don't know what you'd tweak but there could be some gems in the group. |
