The intent of this thread is to just shed a little light on the Resolute Audio replacement for the Tripath TDA2500/TA0105.
After paying a premium $180 I finally have a replacement for my dead TDA2500. I was very anxious to finally see what this board is made of. Well, it's made of a Tripath TCA2002 processor IC and two IX6R11S6 MOSFET drivers. If I kill this one at least I might be able to resurrect it for a fraction of the cost of a new board. 41hz.com sells TC2001 IC's which I believe can be used as a replacement (still trying to find the difference between the TC2001 and TCA2002), and the IX6R11S6 can be purchased from digikey. ![]() I had a bit of a scare when I first powered it on though. The amp was cycling on/off and I immediately though, "****, I killed it already". It turned out to be high DC offset that was causing it. After trimming the offset it was working as normal.

Basically the TCA2002 is just a newer improved version of the TC2001. The TCA2002 has improved click/pop suppression and a wider over/under power supply voltage range.
If your interested in the TC2001 I have some available. Sorry I don't have any TCA2002, they are about 4x the cost wholesale compared to the TC2001.

Dear Sir!
We tried to buy Tripach TA0104A but company stopped work and production. So now I try to find new parts which has same and better parameters than Triparch. We will install this chip in powerful audio amplifier with included power supply. Power supply will have output voltage 90 – 160V. Our purpose get output audio power up to 5000W. You wrote RA0105 has parts from TA0102A: TCA2002 processor IC and two IX6R11S6 MOSFET drivers. May be do you know more renew same processors anf drivers for more higher Voltage - 160 V? Pls. inform. If I get these parts can I make pcb like RA0105? Is it neened to prougramme priocessor or we can make digital audio amplifier module according typical schemes avalable for these parts? Hello Olga,
The RA2500 can handle supply voltages up to +/-180V. As I mentioned, the device is nothing more than a Tripath TCA2002 processor IC and two IX6R11S6 MOSFET drivers. You could purchase the TCA2002 on the surplus market and build your own amplifier with them instead of buying the Resolute Audio part. There is no processor to program because this is an analog class-d amplifier. There is "digital power processing" going on within the IC, but this is not user adjustable. Some will say to not bother designing an amplifier based on obsolete parts from a company no longer in business. If you would still like to do this however, e-mail me and I can give you the website of a supplier who can get you the TCA2002.
