Has anyone done a comparison between ICE vs UCD vs TriPath? I'm just curious if there's a big difference between Class D flavors.

I would say:
ICE: with a good PCB layout design -> very very good UcD: very godd Tripath: the bigger models are on UcD Niveau...the Amp32 and Amp6 are very good entry level Kits (both are better than the cheap Sonic T-Amp). |

Hi
All work somewhat diffrently, ucd is self oscilating, Tripath has its own changing freq. and I don't know nothing about ICE. *ALL* are better then AB( as far as I say

The new ICEpower modules are very nice. Smooth, subtle and powerful.
The Tripath chips still seem to lead in the "hyper-detail" dept. I have not heard the UCD amps.

Note:
Tripath has gone out of business. ICE Power are only available to OEMs UcD are the only one of these three the DIYer can actually get any more, and where they actively support the DIY market.

My favorite kits are those from www.41hz.com, those are incredibly to beat in a price/quality comparion to any product on the market, diy or commercial. |

Getting new old stock on Tripath chips is fine but just don't expect to buy replacements. As for the new owners of the Tripath intellectual property, Cirrus Logic, last I spoke to their people they were going to put it in new chips, someday.
