I have been trying to re-box an original sonic impact t-amp following the instructions on the tnt-audio website. I managed to get the amp out of the box and connected an alps potentiometer and switch and at this stage checked that it was working normally (using the headphone jack input).
I have now wired everything up in an MDF box and soldered wires from phono-plugs onto the pins on the underside of the headphone jack sockets as shown on the website (I had to cut/melt part of the socket off so that it would fit in my box). After wiring everything up again I found that it didn't seem to be making any music, only a hum that got louder as I increased the volume using the pot. I thought that I had killed the amplifier, but I noticed that when turned it up really loud I could actually still hear some (quiet) music from both channels. Can you give me any suggestions about what I may have done wrong? I'll try to get a picture sorted out tonight, Thanks, Jon |

Hello and welcome, you could try using a different connection diagram.
