I'm really not having a lot of luck searching. I was looking at building some of the designs on 41hz.com but the designs that have the power supply built-in require a transformer. I really am not having much luck figuring out where to get one from, how much I should expect to pay, etc. Can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks!

I used PartsExpress to build my AMP5. The transformer I chose was part number 122-615, 160VA +/-22V. Driving 8 ohms it works well.

I also used the 160 VA, 22+22 from Parts Express, for an AMP1 kit running in bridge mode. I ran it at clipping into an 8-Ohm load for an hour, without excessive heating. Of course to be safe, you would still want to run your own tests to confirm my result.

Thanks, all. Now why isn't 41hz' site working so that I can spend my hard earned money?

I have used the Antek transformers exclusively. Nice transformers at nice prices and John is easy to deal with.
The 41HZ site had a HD crash in the server. Should be back soon. Andrew
