Yes! That's correct. This is because any small amount of DC from your DAC will be amplified by Charlize.

OK, I re-measured with source signal and ground shorted and there's no real difference in DC offset.

Another question would be, what would happen if I did the no-capacitor mod to my Charlize II by connecting source ground to BIASCAP of TA2020? Would the DC offset increase, decrease, or not change much?

I measured my DAC, and it has around 3 mV DC offset. Another component I would hook up the Charlize to is my Bryston 10B active crossover, which has ZERO (!) DC offset. Gotta love that Bryston engineering and quality control!

hello. i am very old in years and very new to this sort of thing. so please forgive the elementary nature of my question. i cannot figure out the warning given about the ground problem in charlize 2, other than the results of a mistake would be dire. it seems to me that the instructions given by keo are contradictory, so i would be very grateful if anyone could enlighten me. thanks much.
