Thanks for heads up about high idle current draw... yes, it is a deal breaker. Do you know any brands off hand that have similar characteristics (maybe only 25W x 2) but lower idle current draw?

Sorry you did not get a timely reply. The Max20 is a good choice. I canít comment on the soundbox as I have not heard one but it would not surprise me if the old boominator sounded better...
