Default 3886 kit LED replacement

Hey there!

I would like to replace the blue LEDs with some regular red ones. Are they of a special breed or can I just substitute any 3mm red LED? I guess I'll have to adjust the current limiting resistor for brightness.

Anything I should keep in mind? Would it be a good idea to get superbrights to keep the current low or does that not really matter?
